Carol Dianne O'Neal

O’Neal, Carol Diane, 86, lifetime south suburban resident of Steger, IL and most recently Tampa, FL, passed away at home surrounded by family, Dec. 14, 2023. Carol attended St. Ann and Bloom High School in Chicago Heights where she was the star majorette. Her lifelong vocation was being dedicated to family. She was an amazing daughter, sibling, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was often referred to as an angel on earth and she was loved by many. Many friends thought of her as a second mom or grandma. Family was everything to her.

Carol is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Charles O'Neal; sister, Beverly Jean Zawada and her husband Jerry; brother Jim Seely; brother in law, Ed Marek.

She is survived by her children: Michael (May Speck) O’Neal of Saratoga, CA., Kelly (Brian) Bock of Evergreen, CO., Richard (Suzanne Kerwin) O’Neal of Tampa, FL.; grandchildren: Shane (Kristen Gimenez) O’Neal of Santa Cruz, CA., Meghan (Kyle) Troth of Phoenix, AZ., Nathan (Aly Wente) O’Neal of Livermore, CA., Jenny (Paul) Penman of Bailey, CO., Brittany (Joshua) Warren of Fraser, CO., Erik (Samantha Kieszkowski) Bock of Evansville, WI., Zachary (Kristen Barrows) O’Neal of Tampa, FL., and Carolyn O’Neal of Tampa, FL.; great grandchildren, Maybelle, Byron, Lily and Rebecca Bock, Corey and Travis O’Neal, Jones O’Neal, Kyle Jr. and Liam Troth; sister, Joanne Marek of Thousand Oaks, CA.; brother, Bob (Julie) Seely of Crete, IL.; sister, Linda (Mark) Williams of Grant Park, IL.; and sister in law, Carolyn Seely.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, Jan 19 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, located at 12708 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33618. A private interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family requests anyone attending the funeral, please wear white in honor of Carol’s final wish.
