Carmen Alicia Beabraut Martinez, 90, passed away on May 16, 2019. Carmen was born in Salinas, Puerto Rico on February 23, 1929 to the late Rafael Beabraut and Maria Encarnacion Porrata. She moved to Florida from Brooklyn, NY and was a homemaker, acting as foster mother to 10 children between 1968 and 1973. Carmen loved her family, especially making them home-cooked, traditional Puerto Rican dishes. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling and reading in her free time. Carmen was preceded in death by Fulgencio Rafael, Rafael Julian, Angel Manuel, and Maria Teresa as well as her late husband, Luciano Martinez. She is survived by her son Norberto Torres Jr.; daughter Ilia Inez Torres-Vazquez and her husband Orlando Vazquez; daughter in-law Lori Pais-Santos, brother Jose Beabraut; sister Amparo Beabraut Rivera; five grandchildren Erik Julia, Melissa Claussell, Elyse Torres-Rodriguez, Amber Pulley-Ortiz and Amanda Torres-Holly; 9 great-grandchildren Erik Jr., Alicya, Nelyne, Santo, Justin, Xavier, Natalya, Aidan, and Jocelyn with a great-great-grandson expected in August 2019 as well as many nieces, nephews, and life-long friends. Please join us to celebrate a life well lived on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 10:30AM to 12:30PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 12:30PM. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Thonotosassa, FL.
