Born on May 17, 1950, in Caguas, Puerto Rico, to Pedro Martinez and Virginia Gonzalez, Brunilda lived a life filled with warmth, resilience, and love. She spent over 20 years as a dedicated Housekeeping Supervisor at the Sheraton Hotel, where she was respected for her work ethic and kindness.
A proud fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brunilda rarely missed a game and especially loved cheering on her favorite player, Mike Evans. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—especially watching sunsets at the beach, a moment she always said filled her with tranquility,
Brunilda’s proudest role was that of a grandmother. Her love and guidance shaped the lives of her children and grandchildren, and her legacy will live on in each of them.
She is survived by her loving spouse, Jose Acevedo; her children, Sandra Mendez, Diana Mendez, and Victor Rivera; and her beloved grandchildren, Victor Roberto Rivera, Jazmine Tapscott, Victor Jordan Rivera, Julissa Vazquez, and Victoria Rivera. Brunilda also leaves behind her dear sisters, Maxine Wilson and Julia Martinez; her nephew, Julio Velez; her niece, Kaylah Wilson; and cousins Luis Figueroa and Margarita Ortiz.
Brunilda’s life was a testament to strength, grace, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
