Brian Ray Saffell, 65, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021. Brian was born on October 8, 1955, in Del Rio, Texas. He served 21 years in the United States Air Force as a strategic telecommunications specialist in Japan, South Korea, and several US states. After retiring from the military, he continued his career as an information technology manager at Labcorp for 22 years. He most recently volunteered as an emergency medical responder for the Sun City Center Emergency Squad. He was a talented guitar player, songwriter, and composer. He enjoyed reading historical novels, caring for his dogs and tropical parrots, and cooking creative meals for his family.
Brian was a devoted son, brother, husband, and father and deeply loved by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Terry Ellen Slotkin, and his parents, Robert Curtis Saffell and Jannette Barbara Tutko. Brian is survived by his brother Robert Saffell and sister Denise Haas; daughter Brandy Saffell, son Billy Saffell, son-in-law Joshua Weinstein, daughter-in-law Jen Adkins; grandchildren Rae Lynn and Tao Saffell; nieces Tearsa Saffell, Timarie Saffell, and Megan Haas; and nephews Christopher Saffell, Billy Haas, and Cole Haas; and many dear friends.
