Richard Scott "Bob", 68 of Lutz, passed away and joined our Lord and Savior on January 14, 2024. Bob was a native of Tampa. He started piano lessons at the age of 6 and started playing at church before he was a teen. He received a four-year ROTC Scholarship, and was designated as a Distinguished Military Graduate. He was commissioned as an Infantry Branch 2nd Lieutenant. Bob graduated from the University of Tampa with a Music degree and a Master of Music degree from the University of South Florida. He married Sabrina the year before his first duty station. Together they traveled to several assignments as Bob made the military his career choice. He played at churches wherever he was assigned.
Bob had many more hobbies including fishing, gardening, trap shooting, video games and collecting seashells. He earned a black belt in karate and was an avid scuba diver. After retiring from the Army as a full bird Colonel, Bob took an interest in woodworking making a rocking horse for his granddaughter, Kaori, and several scroll saw designs for family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sabrina Suarez Scott, his daughters, Cherlyn Dawn Scott, Andrea Scott Mortellaro, and his son, Richard Scott II, "Ricky". Bob is also survived by his sister Nora Scott Chadwick, and his 3 grandchildren, Kaori Martin, Dean Scott, and Evan Scott and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Life will be held at 4:00pm, January 28, 2024 with a gathering one hour prior to the service at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home-Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618.
