Betty Dossey

DOSSEY, Betty Lee Wetherington, 67, a native of Tampa FL, passed away on June 14, 2015, following complications from heart surgery. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Martin Leroy and Sadie Imogene Castle Wetherington. She is survived by her husband of 49 years Francis Terrell Lee Dossey, and their four sons: Terry, Cory, Jerry, and Donny; nine grandchildren: Mckenzie, Kody, Brendan, Victor, Duce, Auston, Dylan, Tyler, and Tristan; two brothers Martin and William (Bill) Wetherington. Betty married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Terrell. Both were graduates of Hillsborough High School (c/o 1965), and recognized as the longest married couple at their 50 year class reunion. She traveled the world while Terrell served in the US Navy. Betty was a daughter, sister, cousin, wife, daughter-in-law, mother, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, aunt, grandmother, best friend, and neighbor of many family, extended family, and friends. She worked for the telephone company for more than 25 years before retiring to central Florida in 1999. She enjoyed spending time with family, and spoiling her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed. Services will be held in memory of Betty on June 20 at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home in Tampa, Fl.
