Bette Wood, “Joann” as she was known by her friends and family, was a native of Tampa. She has four children: Mark Wood and Denise Wood who both preceded her in death; Jaime Wood, Monte Wood and Trevor Wood who are her surviving sons. Parents, Henry Musa Sr. and Edna Davis Musa, also preceded her in death Joann has four sisters and two brothers. Henry Alfred Musa Jr. who preceded her death was a decorated veteran of the Korean and Vietnam conflicts and was bestowed the Silver Star. Ms. Wood is survived by her sisters: Dolores Hemmrich, Lila Daughtry, Patsy Wake and Jackie Bleach (Kirk) and her brother David Musa. Joann has five grandchildren: Jaime M Wood Jr., Spencer Wood, Elizabeth Wood, Philippa Wood, Harrison Wood and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Ms. Wood successfully started and owned Maurice Stereo until retirement in 1991. She re-entered the work force in 1994 where she worked at HCC in administration, assisting American Veterans. Joann passed quietly in her sleep on May 25th, 2015. She was a life long active member of the Jehovah Witness and dedicated much of her free time to the study and aid of many of the congregation.
