Audrey Leray Ross

Ross, Audrey Leray Tidwell, the beloved matriarch of our family died at home Thursday, October 13, 2016, at the age of 93. Audrey was born March 23, 1923 in Turkey Creek, Florida. She is survived by two brothers, Pete Strickland, Utah and Jim Strickland, Idaho; two daughters, Roxanne Hahn, Tampa, and Mary Ross, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Scott Sutton (Christine), Jennifer Funk (Bryan), Lori Chamberlin (David), Jason Johnson (Sherrianne), all of Tampa Bay, Jeremy Johnson (Jessica), Alabama; and 13 great-grandchildren. Audrey proudly served her country as a Navy Wave during World War II, after which she married and raised her family. She retired from the City of Tampa after twenty-five years. She enjoyed gardening and had an extensive collection of orchids and exotic ferns. She also loved cooking and spent time reading through her cookbooks. A visitation will be held at 3:00PM on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Blount & Curry Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W. Bearss Ave, Tampa; a service will follow at 4:00PM. Burial will take place at Turkey Creek First Baptist Church Cemetery in Plant City, Florida on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 9:00AM. www.BlountCurryCarrollwood.com
