He was born August 16,1944 to his parents Domenic Capitano and
Lena Manali Capitano in Ybor City. He attended Franklin Jr. High and
Hillsborough High School and graduated from the University of Florida
with a degree in Marketing. He married Elizabeth Harrison of Salisbury,
North Carolina. They had two sons, John Harrison Capitano ( Lissa ) and
Anthony Todd Capitano ( Amy) .
Tony was predeceased by his parents and his sister Marie Capitano White .He's
survived by his former wife ,sons and grandchildren Kate,Jay,Charlie and Max.
He is also survived by Marie's children Joe White Jr,,Steve Capitano,
Nancy Jergins, Patti Farmer and many cousins. Also, lifelong friend
John Zambito and many friends from school and college.
Tony was an accomplished athlete during his youth. At HHS he was a
two sport letterman ( baseball, football ) and at UF he was a member
of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He worked at Charlie's Market in
Ybor City.and Scott Paper Company after graduation from U of F.
Tony was disabled as a young adult and was lovingly cared for by his
parents and Marie with her husband Joe White Sr. until her death .
In recent years he was a resident of The Bristol in Tampa where he had
many friends among the residents and staff. A special thank you is
deserved by Robin Arentsen, his Guardian for her care during
the last few years.
There will be a gathering of friends and family at the Garden of Memories
Mausoleum Chapel on east Lake ave at 10 AM October 23,2021.
Internment will follow nearby afterwards.
