Anthony Antinori Jr., 78 passed away on October 18, 2023, in Tampa, Florida. He was born March 26, 1945, in New York City to Yolanda A. Antinori and Anthony P. Antinori. He loved and enjoyed Tampa, Ybor City and Temple Terrace as a child and adult.
Anthony, a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather (Nano) is survived by his wife, Pamela: son, Christopher (Simone); daughter, Kira Barnes (Ricky); grandchildren, Zoe Antinori, Karsyn Barnes, and Aidan Barnes; brother Mark Antinori (Cindy) and nephew, Ryan Antinori.
Anthony was an athlete at King High School, playing baseball and basketball until graduation in 1963. He attended University of South Florida but left to serve in the Air Force Reserves. He was stationed with the 37th Medical Service Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base.
Upon completion of his degree and teacher’s certification (1968) he taught school and was a successful basketball coach at Bay Point Junior High and Lakewood High School, in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Anthony joined Tampa Electric Company in 1979, working in Customer Service, and as Credit Manager and later was promoted to Human Resources Manager. In 1995 he joined TECO Transport & Trade Corporation as Manager of Sales, then later was promoted to Director of Human Resources.
Anthony loved the outdoors developing a passion for bird hunting, and fishing, especially fly fishing. Watching local Sports was also a favorite pastime where he daily kept up with the Buccaneers and the Tampa Bay Rays.
Most people don’t know that he had artistic talent because he didn’t focus on his gift. Anthony was avid reader and collected books on all topics. He also loved Tampa history, traveling and meeting people.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Blount and Curry Life Event Center 605 S. MacDill Ave. Tampa, Florida. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to the American Heart Association, The American Kidney Foundation, Wounded Veterans Project or a charity of your choice.
