I don't remember much when I was little just hearing stories but my most fond memory of Abuela is when papi took us to see you and everybody else in Jersey in 2006, it was funny because once you saw Justin you kept saying he look like Kiko as well as just being happy you saw us 3. When y'all came to New York in 2011 I was 19 at that time it was nice seeing you and just being able to be around you, lo siento I know that Justin and Chaquana were able to see you more than I did. I also remember back in 2021 when I face-timed you it was just so amazing just seeing your smile and the lil Spanish I did know I tried talking to you it was funny because I felt like I was struggling but you just continued to try and talk to me and then Desi was talking to you it just was beautiful. I’m also thankful that mommy and Papi named me after you. Lo siento abuela I was really trying to make my way to see you so you could finally meet the girls and I just wish I reached out sooner, I just wish I had more time with you but I know god had other plans. I just know that you're with papi now watching down on us I love you may you rest in peace 

I just want to first start off and say myself and family sends they're condolences to you Carmen, Isabel, Lucy, & Jo & the rest of the family nothing but love who i am so grateful for having in my life not only was she the abuelita to her son Francisco oldest children Chaquana, Samantha & Justin but she was still my Mami /Friend no matter what she was a huge part of our life... We are going to miss her tremendously the visits & so happy that we will have so many memories of Mami Mercedes i always told her i love her and i am going to miss her saying it back Yo Te Amo Elia that meant the world to me.

I'm going to miss her smile and the love she always shared with us. When my son married her granddaughter, I was blessed to become one of her chosen daughters too. She was a strong and motivated woman. I will always remember her with love and appreciation for her entire family. Knowing she was saved and her soul is resting with the Lord, gives my heart acceptance of her transition to the heavenly realm. 
To all her birth daughters, Isabel, Lucy, Josephine, and Carmen, I am forever your sister. I love you all, the entire family.
