Alta B. Knowles

Alta was born in Cibolo, TX to Alma and Alvin Schulz on Jul 25, 1938. She graduated from Clemens High School, graduating in 1956. Alta continued her education and went on to become a Registered Nurse working for the Downtown Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, TX for nearly fifty years before retiring and relocating to Florida.

Alta was married to her 1st husband Richard Dube in 1957 for 11 years, during which time they had 5 children. Alta married a 2nd time in 1973 to husband Walter L. Knowles Sr with 1 child.

Alta worked as a Registered Nurse for the Downtown Baptist Hospital for fifty years before retirement. She was involved in playing softball in her teens filling the catcher position; later she joined the Motorcycle Club - at her husband Walter's side; most recently she fulfilled duties as a Mother at Speak Life Church.

Alta is preceded in death by her parents Alma and Alvin Schulz and her husband Walter L Knowles.

Alta is survived by her older brother, Alvin A. Schulz; son, David and his wife Alice Dube; daughters, Marguerite A. Dube, Betty Ann and her husband Rick G. Garza,Janice M. Dube,Helene' and her husband Steven Cowger and Joplyn D. Knowles-Goodno; grandchildren, Claire L. Dube, Heather SkyBlue Dube, Elise Weaver, Eric Dube, Desiree Dube, Carrie Castaneda, Carlos Garza and Corey and Cara Cowger; great-grandchildren, Simon, Faith, Benjamin, Grace, Hope, Jacob and Joy Weaver; Axle Dube, Andy Castaneda, Meric and Melaina Garza and Hendrix Cowger; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Speak Life Church, Pastor Laura Ann Hargrove officiating. Arrangements are by Blount and Curry Funeral Home, Carrollwood Chapel.
