Sandy the child was happy and fun loving and that characterized how she continued to live. There was never a dull moment around her. Even in adverse situations you could see a smile on her face and a sparkle in her eyes. She refused to complain no matter how tough the going got. She took life as it comes in the hope that one day everything will be alright. The simplest pleasures in life brought her pleasures.

Sandy was born on the 2nd May, in Kingston, Jamaica, to Effery Burrell and Janet Harvey. After high school she was blessed with a son Rasheed, she then emmigrated to the United States to join her father. While here she fell in love with Horatio and the union produced two more beautiful children Anioya and A’Meir. Her family was her world as she shared every event of their lives with the world on WhatsApp and Facebook.

In life she was the glue that held family and friends together. She was determined to do what was best for her and her family and as such she worked assiduously to make sure they were ok. There was not a dull moment with Sandy she was curious and fun loving. I believe if you had asked her what was her motto she would say “There is only one way to happiness and that is to cease worrying about the things that are beyond the power of our will”. Let us live by that maxim and remember Sandy as the mom, wife, daughter, sister, niece co-worker, cousin, friend that she was. She will be sadly missed by Horatio, her husband, her children, Rasheed, Anioya, and A’Meir, her father, mother, grandmother, coworkers, friends sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of cousins both here and in Jamaica and other parts of the world. May God rest your soul until that day.
