Olive Veronica Bishop (June 20, 1939 – March 3, 2024) Olive Veronica Bishop, a vibrant spirit known for her warmth and generosity, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2024, in Florida. Born on June 20, 1939, in Kingston, Jamaica, to Evans Alexander Fisher and Ivy May Thomas (predeceased), Olive's life journey took her from the bustling streets of Love Lane and North Street in Kingston, where her family owned a grocery store, to Harbour View, where she opened her first beauty salon, Olive's Coiffeurs. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish several salons throughout Kingston and New York. A lifelong learner, Olive returned to school later in life, earning her Associate degree as a Nurse's Aid before retiring. Olive's friendly nature and love for people shone brightly. She made friends everywhere she went, showering them with thoughtful gifts to express her affection. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and cherished her beloved dog, Precious. Olive's life was enriched by her family. She was predeceased by former husbands James Chang and Danny Bishop. She leaves behind her devoted children, Mark, Norman, and Sharon; cherished grandchildren, Megan, Junice, Sean, Lisa, and Keri; and her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Leyah and Dray. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Evan, Annette, Flavia, Audrey, Marcia, and Esmie, as well as many others that include several cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 22nd, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bailey Memorial Funeral Home, 6701 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, FL 33319. Funeral Service celebrating Olive's life will be held on Saturday, March 23rd, at 1:00 PM at River of Life Church, 7880 Wiles Rd., Coral Springs, FL 33067. A Repast will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to River of Life Church in Olive's memory.
