The son of Mr. Cecil Birtle, Cyril began his journey in British Guiana before moving to London, England, in 1962. There, he worked as a shift manager for TwinLock Ltd. In 1985, he became the proud owner of Dulwich Wines & Spirits, a family-run business he operated alongside his wife and sons.
Cyril married Bibi Fareena Arjoon (née Allim) in February 1964. Together they raised three sons: Ralph Burtle Arjoon (1964–1986), Chris Arjoon (born 1965), and Ryan Nash Arjoon (born 1971). He was a devoted grandfather to Danny Christopher Arjoon (born 1986), Jay Dylan Redford, and Nicholas Ryan Malette-Arjoon (born 2008), and a proud great-grandfather to Jaida Danni Arjoon (born 2024). Cyril was also the godfather of Dr. Shannon Jimmy Mohabir.
In 1989, Cyril emigrated to South Florida, where he ventured into the restaurant industry as the owner of The Family Oven and The Suburban in Tamarac. His entrepreneurial spirit continued with Fareena Fashions in Oakland Park during the mid-1990s and later with ABCR Dollar Discount in North Lauderdale, opened in 2005.
After retiring in 2009, Cyril enjoyed traveling extensively with Bibi to destinations such as Aruba, Guyana, and several European countries including the UK, France, Belgium, and Switzerland. Over the years, he resided in various cities across Broward County—Pompano Beach, Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Sunrise, and Tamarac—and maintained properties in Royal Palm Beach, Florida and Port Mourant, Guyana.
Cyril’s life was marked by dedication to family and enterprise.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
