Ann Elizabeth Douglas was born to Ina and late, Ancel (Dudley) Sinclair on December 10, 1950, in St. Ann’s Bay Jamaica. She attended kindergarten at the age of four at St. Ann’s Bay Infant School and St. Ann’s Bay Primary School through the age of 13, and then graduated from Merle Grove High School in Kingston at 17 years old. She attended National Dance Theater during high school and couple of years after for drama and modeling.
Shortly after high school, Ann attended the Fitz Henley Business College, Kingston Jamaica and worked as a Teacher’s Aide. After Business College, Ann started her business career with Club Caribbean Hotel as an Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Clerk for eight years in Jamaica.
In 1982 Ann immigrated to the United States where she established a career in banking at Bank Leumi, New York. She worked with Bank Leumi for six years as the Foreign Currency Head Teller. Ann moved to Florida in 1988 and continued her banking career for two years, as Foreign Currency with Citizens and Southern National Bank, now known as Bank of America.
In 1991, Ann found a new passion, when she decided to change career path from business to medical. Ann started and ended her 30-year medical career with West Boca Medical Center. She held various job titles during her tenure with West Boca Medical Center: Medical Records Clerk, Nurse Assistant in the medical surgical and telemetry unit, Phlebotomist, and Telemetry Unit Secretary.
Ann’s faith and trust in the Lord started at an early age. She grew up in a Methodist Church but as an adult she became a member of the Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church. She wanted to achieve the full understanding of the word of God, service, and a vessel to deliver his message to the world. She felt she had a calling to preach, teach and minister. She served her community, her workplace, and volunteered frequently in her church. Additionally, she attained licenses as an Ordained Minister and Christian Counselor from Harvest Reapers, International School of Ministry in 2016.
Ann’s love for her family was unconditional, for her mother, siblings, children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her mother, Ina; daughters, C’Omaro and Camille; her sons, Mark, Tony, and Norman-Jr; siblings, Sonia, Patrick, Rosemarie, and Carrol; grandchildren, Denielle, Jamel, Tilani, Keira, Allison, Kayla, Ashley, and Alecia; nieces and nephews.
