Spike was born in Brunswick, GA, on February 23, 1934, to Aron Wesendolph Wright and Eloise Johnston Wright. After graduating college he served 20 years as an officer in the armed forces, completing tours of duty in both the Korean War and Vietnam War before retiring as a Major. Spike then had a second career at Whitehall Laboratories in Hammonton, NJ.
Throughout his life, Spike was active in the Episcopal Church and served several parishes by singing in the choir, serving on the vestry, and as Sr. Warden. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with friends, fine dining, and keeping up with sports and politics.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Aron Wesendolph Wright and Eloise Johnston Wright; and his brother, Aron Wesendolph Wright, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Wendy Joy Koltnow of Arizona, and a host of beloved extended family members.
Services for Spike will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church, 2015 Fleischmann Rd. Tallahassee, FL 32308. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Comforter Episcopal Church.
