Sara M. Randall, 72, of Gulfport, MS died early on the morning of March 19, 2012, in Tallahassee, FL.
She was born in Damascus, VA on December 14, 1939 the youngest of 9 children. Our loving mom died peacefully with her family at her bedside. She was loved by many and respected by all that was blessed to have known her. Mom was diagnosed with lung cancer earlier this year and she fought the battle her way until God called her home. Mom leaves this earthly life to join other cherished loved ones and friends. They include her Father and Mother, John Summers Rollins and Lula Mae Hamn Rollins; three brothers and four sisters; her late husband Donald Wayne Randall; her best friends, Norma Mosley, Freddie Seward, and Lonnie Ryder.
Mom had a heart of Gold and could never turn away from anyone in need, her endurance and passion throughout her life was never yielding. She had a way of not sugar coating the truth and we loved her for her pure honesty.
The family wishes to express thanks to Hospice of Big Bend for helping us through this difficult journey. Ed and Laurie you have a gift and you were so great with mom always bringing out her beautiful smile when she heard your voice. Culleys funeral home for giving Mom the respect and dignity she so deserved even after she left this world, also for working with a contract out of state and having everything she wanted run smoothly. Lisa Ryder and Ronda White for all the emotional support and food you gave. Tom and Robin for always being there and bringing the family food as well.
The family would like to acknowledge the life-long friendships and an extension to our family. Lita and Tonia Teasley, Mom loved you like you were her own and so do we. Thank you for taking care of momma and your support throughout this difficult period. Mom was so grateful to have you two checking in while she was in MS. Boo, mom loved you and your beautiful baby girl Kennedy just like you were an extension to the family and we thank you for giving her some joy while she was sick and being there before I brought her home to take care of her. The staff at mom’s apartment complex, Tommy, Tonia, Carol and anyone who was touched by our amazing Mother we would like to thank you as well.
Sweet Mom and Grandmother we will miss you every day until we meet again in heaven, Karen, Michael and Shelly, Jennifer and Brian, Kirsten, Kali, Schyler and Dustin.
