Ruth Elizabeth Barineau Bellflower, 92, of Tallahassee, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be held at Leon Ebenezer Baptist Church, 8453 Blountstown Highway, Saturday April 18 at 2:30 and Funeral Services will begin at 3:00.
Ruth was born March 26, 1923, in Tallahassee, Florida, to Amy Moody and Magnus Barineau. She was co-owner of Bellflower Marine for forty-six years along with her husband and two sons.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Brock, Debra (Allen) Crews, Kay (Jackie) Pons, and son, Bennie (Darcy) Bellflower. In addition, she is survived by fifteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. She is also survived by "the sisters" Lola Shields, Inez McDowell, and Emilie White.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, William Bellflower, a son, James William Bellflower Sr., a granddaughter, Jacqueline Kay Pons and two brothers, George and James M. Barineau.
Ruth was a dedicated Christian who loved her church family and who had a servant's heart.
