Rudy Van Snyder, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on January 23, 2024 in Tallahassee, Florida. Born on July 13, 1946 in Ft. Pierce, Florida to George W. Snyder and Maude Boland.
Rudy was a devoted husband of over 44 years to his loving wife Sharon Kent Snyder. He was the proud father of Randee Eastman (Michael) and Dana Finuff (Bo). His grandchildren Riley Hammar, Kelsey Hammar, Shelby Finuff brought immense joy into his life as did his great-grandchildren Scarlett and Waylon.
He is also survived by his brother Burton Snyder (Martha), who shared many cherished memories with Rudy throughout their lives.
Rudy graduated from Leon High School before earning an Associate’s Degree from North Florida Jr. College. He served in the Army Reserves as a General Vehicle Repair Man and Truck Mechanic where he developed lifelong friendships and learned valuable skills that would shape him for the rest of his life.
A man of many passions and interests; Rudy was a member of the NRA and a longtime Florida State Booster. He had an unwavering love for hunting, farming, riding horses fishing but above all else, FSU Football held a special place in his heart.
Throughout his career at Centel Telecommunications Company, he demonstrated dedication to excellence while building lasting relationships with colleagues who became dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday January 25th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home Riggins Road Chapel followed by funeral services on Friday January 26th at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Beth Page Cemetery, Monticello, Fl.
Rudy will be remembered for being kind-hearted with an infectious smile that could light up any room he entered. His love for family knew no bounds; always putting them first no matter what challenges came their way.
His passing leaves behind countless individuals whose lives were touched by this remarkable man who lived life fully until its very end.
May we find comfort knowing that Rudy has found peace after living such a full life surrounded by those he loved most dearly.
