My prayers go out to the McNutt and Humphrey families. I was a classmate of his and I’ll miss him greatly. He attended our class reunion in 2015 and sadly that was the last time I saw him. He

So sorry for your loss. We knew Scott through many years of archery at Horse Creek Traditional Archery Club, Wakulla Archery Club and Tallahassee Bowhunters Association.

Scott was a fine human being and a good man. He was a support to me in several difficult times and a pleasure to have as a friend in good times. We had fallen out of touch after I moved away and it doesn’t seem real that that steady, calm man is gone. Prayers and condolences to all the family.

So sorry to hear of Scott passing.  He fought for a long time and we at the Jefferson Longrifles enjoyed his company and participation  whenever he could join us. He was dedicated to the old ways and aways liked shooting primitive archery.  I recall getting a dozen arrows he made at least 20 years ago.  Most recently we were glad to see him support the  club at the last two Tallahassee Highland Games.  He thoroughly enjoyed instructing the public about archery.  I suspect we will designate  one of our Rendezvous archery contests in his name.   Scott will be missed by all of us.

I first met Scott at our first Day of Dialouge for Florida's American Indians with the Florida Department of Health. I was organzing the event and Scott was suggested for the opening prayer. When he showed up in his cowboy hat I wasn't so sure...but he did an excellent job.

I turned to him for counseling when my husband died in 2016, and during that time he also became a friend. He could forget things....such as when he called me wondering why I was late for my appt, only for him to remind him I was in Scotland. Driving over the bridge from Skye at that precise moment. 

From there we often talked of Scotland. And I know it was a dream of his to go. While I'm not sure he ever made it, I'm quite sure he's been there now. Carrying all his loved ones in his heart.

What a great guy! The world was a better place with him in it. My sincere condolences.

My condolences go to Scott's wife Julie and all his family. Scott was a wonderful human being. My favorite memory of Scott is my first memory. I was at The Mockingbird a sweet local place, that a lot of local Tallahassee folk used to meet at for music, food, and a drink. Scott and I were both standing near the bar chatting with folks and eventually spoke to each other. He asked me what tribe I was. I told him with my blonde hair and blue eyes, no one had ever asked me that. He said he wasn't looking at hair or eyes he was looking at facial structure and yes, my cheek bones, forehead shape, and jaw line do say tribal person. I told him I was part Cherokee on my mother's side and from there on he called me Dahlonega ___________, golden haired one.  Scott's passing leaves a hole in the community. Being 2 years younger than me, he was definitely too young to be gone. Maybe he's now teaching the angels how to make a traditional hunting bow!♡

We are long-time friends of Julie and Julieanne. Therefore, we know of Scott and Julie’s great love. We send our heartfelt condolences to the McNutt and Humphreys families. Scott was such a warm and gentle soul and we loved how he loved Julie and made her laugh.

Our hearts and thoughts are with all of the McNutt's and all who loved Scott.  May the Perpetual Light of Christ shine upon him---and bring you peace.

Scott was one of the greatest employees I ever had at K-T Parma y in Bartow. Always kept us laughing.  So smart but such a goof. He could always laugh at himself. Great guy!!

He was a good friend.. I will always cherish our friendship.

A wonderful man. His kindness and compassion was remarkable. The world has lost a great man.

Scott was a true friend to Mission San Luis. Thank you to Scott for teaching us how to make indigenous style D-bows [native long bows] from scratch. We went into the woods, and selected and cut down 5 small pecan and hickory trees: the best trees to use due to the very fiberous underbark. We then cut them into staves, and then let the staves dry for 3 months in the Messer House.  Then we had the bow making workshop where Sc =ott taught us how to craft the bow shape. He talked about the law where the bow must be the owner's height. We still have our bows that are to our height, that we use today. Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge. Scott always knew and recognized John -> and called him Bip Bentura every time he saw him. You will be missed, Scott. Our condolences to the family. Sincerely, Helena Sadvary & John M. Maiers.
