Roy Ilee Beard

Roy grew up in Tallahassee. He was a graduate of Leon High, before joining the United States Army. Roy joined the Florida State Highway Patrol and retired as a Captain after 25 years of service. A member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Roy also enjoyed coaching little league, playing softball, and rooting for Florida State University Football.

Roy was preceded in death by his father and mother, Roy and Alphus Beard; his brothers: Edward and Harold Beard and sister, Helen Whitaker; his son, Joseph Allen (Joe) Beard; and grand-daughter, Morgan Amarylis Lamb. He is survived by Sue, his wife of 61 years; daughters: Sandra Lamb and Donna Beard; and his grandson, Jacob Lamb.

The family of Roy Beard will have a funeral service for him on Friday, January 28th, at 11am at Immanuel Baptist Church.
