Bob was born on August the 8th, 1930 in Indianpolis, Indiana. He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 20 during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge he spent the next 40 years working as a Pit and Dragline Boss in coal mines throughout the Midwest.
Bob was a devout catholic and always wanted to help anyone he could. In the early 90s he volunteered for The MDA, an organization created to fight muscular dystrophy.
After moving to Tallahassee in 1994, Bob became employed by Publix Supermarkets, where he became something of a local celebrity due to his commitment to service and personable attitude. It was here that he was able to derive the most enjoyment out of each day of his life. He retired in February of 2017 at the age of 86.
Bob is survived by daughter Stephanie Allard, Grandchildren, Mitchell and Dean Allard, Great Grandchildren Marina, Dylan, and Macey, and his beloved lab, Gunner.
Visitation and viewing will be held Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 6-8pm at Culleys MeadowWood funeral home at 1737 Riggings Rd, Tallahassee, Fl.
Service will be held at Good Shepherd Church, 4665 Thomasville Rd. Tallahassee, Fl, 32309.
