Ella (Rhea) Hartman Oates, 78, of Tallahassee peacefully entered into rest on Thursday November 19, 2015. Rhea, the only child of Hearl and Delma Hartman, was born on October 4, 1937 in Halifax County, North Carolina.
For years, Rhea worked as a secretary at John Wesley United Methodist Church, where she held her church membership. Later she joined and worshiped at St. Paul’s United Methodist church until her health would no longer allow her to attend.
Rhea was an avid fan of the Florida Gators. No matter where she was, she could always tell you who they were playing and what the score was. She could even be found tailgating with her family.
She is proceeded in death by her parents and her husband, Ronald. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Robinson and her husband James; grandchildren Robbie Robinson and his wife Stacy, and Ryan Robinson and his wife Tiffany; great-grandchildren Trevor, Julia, Caiden and Evelina.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 6-8pm in the Dogwood Room of Culley’s MeadowWood Riggins Road Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday, November 23, 2015 in the chapel of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Rhea will be forever remembered by those who loved her as the woman who loved her church and family, loved to make people laugh and had a loving kindred spirit.
