My cousin Preston was the most admirable person I've ever known.  His warm heart and great love of Florida history is what prompted me to become a teacher.  I remember going to Apalachicola and meeting him.  He hugged me so tight.  I am so proud that he was a member of my family.  His volunteerism and devotion to the law will always be remembered.  When I moved to Tallahassee to go to FSU, we met at the First Presbyterian Church to attend services together with G-Net Gramlin.  I will remember him fondly.  Lizbeth and family are in our prayers.

Wonderful memories have I of the most personable and loved cousin.  Even though we lived in Georgia,Pres always made the time to stop and visit our very large clan of Fenns while he was attending his Mother's annual family gathering in Midway.  We always wish for another visit with a cherished loved one, but I hold dear several with Preston in Tally and with At. Margaret at the beach.  My fondest trip was to Tally when Pres spoke to the Historical Society.  It was interesting and histerical to hear him tell those stories. my favorite cousin!!. i still remember and often dream about our summers at his beach house.. the scary stories he would tell, his great sense of humor, his laugh, the great meals, the family ties that were formed, the memories go on and on.. he was my buddy and i will miss him every day.


It was with great sadness that we read Mr. DeMilly's obituary in the Tallahassee Democrat this afternoon.  We, the members of the Tallahassee Historical Society, had great esteem for him because he was one of our past presidents, having served in 1990-1991; 1991-1992; and Co-President in 2000-2001.  Therefore, we wish to extend our sympathy to the family and to assure you that he will not be forgotten by us.

I grew up knowing Preston.  My mother (a Gehan) and her sisters spoke of him many times and had a lot of stories about him.  My heart goes out to his family.  I'll keep you in my prayers
