Peggy T. Corn

Peggy Taylor Corn, age 90, went to be with the Lord and Savior on March 18, 2024. Peggy was born on February 9, 1934, to Cecil and Virginia Taylor in Crawfordville, Georgia. She graduated from Alexander Stephens Institute High School and moved to Atlanta for business school classes and employment with Southern Bell. Peggy met Ed Corn while in Atlanta and they married in 1955. They raised their two daughters in the Atlanta area before relocating to Tallahassee in 1972, where Peggy lived for the remainder of her life. She retired after 20 years with The Florida Bar Association in March of 2000, having served as the Supervisor of Membership Records.

Peggy was a member of Thomasville Road Baptist Church (TRBC) where she served for over 30 years in the Children’s Ministry and was a member of the Young at Heart Choir, and Donna Calloway’s Women’s Bible Study. She enjoyed traveling with TRBC members to various U.S. locations to participate in church building projects. Peggy was an avid reader and loved a good David Baldacci or John Grisham novel and was quite partial to characters in the Jan Karon’s Mitford series. She was a dedicated card writer and a dog lover. She supported FSU football and the Lady Noles basketball team (she had played with her older sister on her high school basketball team.) Peggy also enjoyed visiting family and friends in the Atlanta area and in Jacksonville and carried many memories from vacations with her daughters at National Parks throughout the country.

Peggy is survived by her two daughters, Kerri Corn of Tallahassee and Carol Corn Ragland of Jacksonville. She is also survived by beloved nieces and nephews and their children, primarily in the Atlanta area. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Jack Taylor, sister Martha Agee, two nieces, Jackie Bell and Donna Still, and a grand-dog, Charley.

Arrangements are being hosted by Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home and Memorial Park at 700 Timberlane Road in Tallahassee. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, March 22, at 1 pm at their Timberlane Chapel with a service at 1:30 pm. After the service will be a catered reception followed by the graveside burial for those who would like to attend.
