I grew up with Michael at St. Michael's High School.  As part of the Ortiz Y Pino clan, I remember him for his willingess to try things and work hard at it.   I knew his older brother Jerry Ortiz Y Pino for almost as long and enjoyed working with him as well. 

My sincere condolences. I remember Mike as a nice guy at St. Michael’s High, Santa Fe, NM, in the mid 60’s.

We reconnected on Facebook a few years ago; it was good hearing from him after so many years.

Michael and I met when he bought the house in Apalachicola that my late partner and I joyously held for almost a decade.
Michael and I became friends and enjoyed times with neighbors and local friends, especially over shared "bring a dish" dinners!
So special was it that he and Kathie, once high-school classmates, got in touch via contemporary social media, fell in love, and married.
A deep soul, Michael was vastly intelligent, and had a great sense of humor. I always admired him for serving our Country in war. And I send love to his wife Kathie, and to all his family. ❤💙💜

Phil & I met Michael 9 years ago on the porch of The Gibson Inn. We enjoyed many happy evenings there and also at the Bowery Station as well as his home. We also were able to share in his joy at finding Kathie & attending their lovely intimate wedding! Even though he wasn't a Buffalo Bills fan, he would call & ask Phil to come over and watch the game if we couldn't watch it at home. We will miss his stories and humor and the many good times we shared together! Love, Marcie & Phil
