Mary was born on November 3, 1932 to Annie Bell and Jessie James Williamson in Brunswick, Georgia and was the last of seven children. She married Herman Lange in November 1952 and together they built a local telecommunications business named South Georgia Communications, that served Brunswick and surrounding areas for more than 30 years. In 1984, after selling the business, South Georgia Communications, Mary, the consummate entrepreneur, opened and operated a needlework shop on St. Simons Island for many years until it sold in the early 90s. Mary was active in her church in Brunswick, First Baptist Church and after moving to Tallahassee in 2007 to be with her daughter, became a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was an active member of the Shrine Auxiliary and the Eastern Star. Mary was also active in the local garden clubs in Brunswick serving in many leadership roles including president, vice president, treasurer and was also a member of the Judges Council. After many hours of study and hard work, she earned the certification of a Master Flower Show Judge and just this last year was granted Emeritus Status (lifetime certificate).
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Lange, and is survived by her only daughter, Patricia Lange of Tallahassee, Florida.
There will be a memorial service will be held in Brunswick, Georgia on February 21st at 11AM.
