Mary W. Keel Daughtrey, 95, of Sun City Center and formerly of Tallahassee passed away at home on Friday (3/31). She was born on Feb 4, 1922 to Latha Walker and Henry L Walker. She retired as a Lt. with the fraud division of the Driver’s License with the State of Florida. Mary then went on to nursing school at the age of 68 and was the Valedictorian of her class. She was a professional ballroom dancer and had competed throughout the US, winning all her competitions with 1st place.
She is survived by her children: Elaine (Steve) Horton, Carl (Sarah) Keel; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands: James Keel, Bill Daughtrey; and a son: James Keel.
Gravesides services will be held Sunday (4/9) at 10:30 AM at Culley’s MeadowWood Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Road. Friends may call at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home Sunday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
