Louise Robertson Copher Kelsey was born February 6, 1925, into the farming community of Littles and Robertsons in Talbot, Indiana. She gently left this life on November 2, 2012. Louise was very talented musically – she sang and received a scholarship to the Chicago Conservatory of Music for her piano expertise. While in Chicago , she met Paul Copher who was attending dental school at Northwestern University. They married and out of that union was born David O. Copher and Barbara Copher. After a divorce, Louise married Dick Kelsey in 1958 and they lived happily on Key Biscayne until 1994 when they moved to Tallahassee. Louise was preceded in death in 2005 by her husband Dick.
She is survived by beloved son David O. Copher, D.D.S. ( Wife Blanca ), devoted daughter Barb Millar, FAMU PD officer, her two wonderful grandchildren Kelsey Britt and Dustin Paul Millar, and her companion cat, Baby. Some of her favorite pastimes were floral arranging and cooking. Louise also leaves her sister, Kaye Martinez and brother-in-law, Dr. Hubert Martinez of Miami Lakes, Florida and a loving contingency of nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to give a big thank you to Centre Point Health and Rehab for their incredible patience and kindness shown to our mother. And last, a thank you to Glynda and Mark Renneker for their love and friendship over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Leon County Animal Shelter or Big Bend Hospice. A summer celebration of her life will be observed at her family plot in Locust Grove, Indiana with relatives in 2013.
