Lisa loved life. In the darkest night, Lisa was the light guiding us to dawn, dancing the night away. Lisa was a leader, and she helped people believe in themselves, even when that was the hardest thing. She was President of PFlag which offers support for LGBT families and provided education of allies of the community. Her deep embrace of those near to her and her fierce loyalty to friends and family were hallmarks of her character. Many consider her their best friend and none of them are wrong!
After graduating from the University of North Florida with a degree in Political Science, Lisa owned several successful consulting businesses and was widely known and respected by colleagues. She was an innovator in housing, community development, and disaster recovery programs. People in cities and towns all over Florida owe Lisa a debt of gratitude for the difficult work she did to manage millions of dollars in assistance that was used to fix houses, expand local businesses, and develop all kinds of vital public infrastructure.
Lisa was very involved in the many interests of each of her children and was Volunteer of the Year for Lincoln High School Theater. She was also named Tallahassee Person of the Year in 2007.
Lisa will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and colleagues. She was an inspirational figure who never gave up, and whose grit and tenacity inspired us all.
