Linda Lee Key, of Tallahassee, FL, passed away at the age of 79 in her sleep on Sunday morning, January 28, 2024. Born in Nassau, Bahamas, she was the daughter of the late Neville John Key and late Una Lorraine Pinder Ross. Linda is survived by her older sister Julieanne Una Heil and Julieanne's husband Roland Charles Heil, Jr., of Woodbury, TN; her younger sister Carolyn Staten of Vancouver, BC; niece's and nephews Debbie Vaughn, Maryann Hobbs, Bobby Cooper, Andrew Stevenson, and Shaun Stevenson. She is also survived by life long friends Kathleen Horn and Lachlan Macdonald, as well as many loving and devoted treasured friends.
Linda was born in Nassau, Bahamas but grew up on the tiny island of Green Turtle Cay in Abaco, Bahamas. After she finished school, she began and enjoyed a long and successful career in administrative and clerical work in the Bahamas. Upon retirement, she moved to Tallahassee, FL where she quickly made many new and cherished friends.
Linda loved gardening and working in her yard, as well as cooking delicious Bahamian dishes for her friends. She rarely met a stranger and was devoted to lending a helping hand when she was needed. All who knew and loved Linda were blessed by her kindness, infections laughter, and great sense of humor. She made the world around her a better place. Rest in peace, Linda. You will truly be missed.
