Born in Hollywood, Florida, in 1942, Linda attended college at Florida State University where she received a bachelors' degree in art education in 1964 and met her future husband Ed. Following college, Linda was a teacher in San Francisco, Atlanta and Jacksonville before moving to Stuart, FL where she taught art at Palm City Elementary for 25 years. She and Ed moved to Tallahassee upon their retirement in 2005.
Linda enjoyed art, music and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her love for music showed through in everything she did. She was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where she sang in the choir. She was also a dedicated member of Tallahassee Newcomers group and the associated Music Makers singing group.
She is survived by her son, Mike DuMond (Beth), Tallahassee; and her daughter, Lauren DuMond Kelley (Jimmy), Portland, Oregon. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Erin and Paige DuMond and Elon Grace and Reilly James Kelley; and her sister, Shirley Murray of Stuart, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband Edmund and her parents, Amos and Elon Burrell.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, December 20 at St. John's Episcopal Church. A reception at the church will immediately follow the service.
