Lewis Cay Cochran, age 78 of Tallahassee, Fl passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Estelle; brothers, Jeff Jr. and Raymond; a son, Kent ;and a nephew, Dennie.
He is survived by a daughter, Luanne of West Palm Beach; a grandson, Devon of Atlanta; another grandson, Steven Lewis; and a granddaughter, Kathleen; nieces, Cheryl Strickland (Sylvan) of Tallahassee, Marsha Walker (Lee) of Tallahassee, Denise Caltagirone (Jim) of Tampa; nephews, Jeff Cochran (Jan) of Lambertville, MI, Raymond Jr. (Meleha), and Mark of Tallahassee. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, special cousins and friends.
His family has been here for generations and his parents owned the Tallahassee Wood and Coal Co. on Madison St. Lewis attended Leon High School where he played baseball and basketball. He graduated from FSU with a bachelor's degree in business and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He retired from the Florida Dept. of Health and Rehabilitative Services in the personnel division. He was a diehard FSU fan, loved baseball, football and attended games and tailgating for years. He supported many charities and one of his favorites was Special Olympics. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics 3601 Westmoreland Dr., Tallahassee, Fl 32303.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday September 28,2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Florida.
