Born May 7, 1949 in Miami, FL, Judy was the oldest daughter of Floyd and Dorothy (Lentz) Crowder. She graduated from New Canaan High School in New Canaan, CT in 1967 and received a BA in Psychology from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA in 1971.
After graduation she moved to the sunshine state to be near her grandmother and started working at Metropolitan Life where her father had already established a career. But it was her passion for medicine and caring for others that led her to become a nurse. Judy became an RN, working in pediatrics for many years, in Tampa and later in Tallahassee.
Judy was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time outdoors working in her yard. She also adored being a dog mom to her black lab Molly.
She is predeceased by her parents, Floyd and Dorothy Crowder, and her brother, Dan L. Crowder. She is survived by her brothers, Terry Crowder (and wife, Toni) of Sarasota, FL and Gary Crowder of Keithville, LA; sisters, Donna Crowder of Tampa, FL , Carole Volz (and husband, Gregg) of Lenni, PA, and Joyce Davis (and husband, Chris) of Atlanta, GA; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In keeping with her wishes no public service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and Big Bend Hospice of Tallahassee, FL.
