Jonathan McGee

Jonathan Mead McGee (Jon) was born on October 16, 1958 in Houston, Tx, and passed away on March 27, 2022 in Tallahassee, Florida. Jon grew up in Conroe, Texas and graduated from Conroe High School in 1977. He attended Texas Tech University, and later graduated from The University of North Texas with a degree in business. Jon worked for several years at Texas Instruments and later for Marathon Oil Company. Jon enjoyed sports, listening to music, fishing, bike riding, and spoiling all of his beloved dogs.

Although spending much of his adult life in Texas, Jon and his wife Terri moved to Florida in late 2020 and enjoyed many adventures there including visiting museums and amusement parks, attending concerts and sporting events, biking, kayaking, and fishing.

Jon was preceded in death by his parents, Milton B. & Lois McGee, in-laws Wayne & Audrey Bain, grandparents Milton W. & Bess McGee, grandparents J. Earl & Lois Mead, and his sister-in-law Kathy Bain.

Jon is survived by Terri, his wife of over 28 years. He also leaves behind his three brothers and sisters-in-law: Brooks and Julie McGee, Preston and Liz McGee, and Joel and Amy McGee; his step-sister and her husband Dana and Monty Reagan, his brother- in-law Clifford Bain, and his step mother, Brenda McGee. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

A memorial service celebrating Jon’s life will be held at 10:00 am on May 7th, at Second Baptist Church, 6400 Woodway Dr, Houston, Texas.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made in Jon’s honor to the Lois Harper McGee endowed scholarship fund at Baylor University.
