John was born on August 17, 1947 to Theodore R. Salvo and Helen Kastuck in White Plains, NY.
After graduating from White Plains High School in 1965, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served his country for 3 years. In 1977, he met Barbara, and they wed in 1980, going on to have 3 children: Theodore, Adam, and Ryan. John was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of Theodore, Adam, Ryan, and Barbara and always supported them. John spent 47 years in the swimming pool industry, including owning a local pool business in Tallahassee for 27 years before retiring. John was also a passionate fisherman and boat enthusiast and could often be found on the boat (fishing on it or fixing it), respooling a reel, or tailgating at a FSU game when he wasn’t at home. Anyone who knew John knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for.
John was predeceased by his father, Theodore R. Salvo, and his mother, Helen Kastuck. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Salvo, his children, Theodore, Adam and his wife Mindy, and Ryan and his wife Heather, and his 6 grandchildren: Javin, Adam Jr., Trevor, Weston, Ava, and Bella.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, consider a gift to Lewy Body Dementia Association.
There will be a burial service and celebration of life on October 2, 2022. More information is available at https://everloved.com/life-of/john-salvo/
