Joanne lived in Lawrence, MA until her family moved to Salem, NH in her youth. Joanne’s childhood summers were spent at Seabrook Beach, NH, creating a lifelong love of sunshine and the sea.
She was educated in the Salem school system and studied at the University of New Hampshire and University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Joanne completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida and her Masters in Library Science at Florida State University. She also continued graduate studies in Spanish and Humanities. Joanne worked for over twenty years combined at libraries of Florida State University and Florida A&M University.
Joanne would read anything, from cereal boxes to Shakespeare. She sought out other people’s opinions and loved to debate them. From her storytelling and good conversation, to her perpetual excitement for the next event, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
