Joan Loretta Wardwell, 80, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 in Tallahassee.
Born in Irondequoit, New York; she was the daughter of the late Henry Bernard Huurman and Loretta Caroline Fien Huurman. Joan is survived by her daughter, Christine Collins and son-in-law, Mike of Tallahassee; her sister, Martha Kyle; and grandchildren, Jessica Collins and Kyle Collins, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth C. Wardwell; and her brother, Jerry Huurman.
Because of her love for helping others; she enjoyed her career as a registered nurse; retiring from Tallahassee Memorial Hospital after many years of service.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 PM on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home; 1737 Riggins Road in Tallahassee. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 15, 2016, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Tallahassee. Burial will follow at MeadowWood Memorial Park, Tallahassee.
