He was a friend to many and many loved him.
He leaves behind his wife of almost forty-five years Ede, two sons: Richard and Donald of Tallahassee, 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren plus many relatives who are scattered across the country.
Jess was one of seven children and with his passing only the youngest is left: Jack Wilson of Granbury,Tx. He lived a varied and interesting life Jess was a Navy CB during WW II, a journeyman, an officer candidate, a safety engineer and rental owner. In 1962 he joined the Lions Club and it became his avenue of service for all his life. He served as a District Gov. in 1973-1974 and was a founding member that year for the Florida Lions Camp for the visually handicapped. 1980-1981 he served as the President of the Florida Lions Foundation and received numerous honors during those 48 years.
Visitation will be on Monday Oct. 25, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Culley’s Riggins Road Chapel 1737 Riggins Road. Funeral services will be held at Culley’s Timberlane Road Chapel (700 Timberlane Road) on Tuesday Oct. 26,2010 at 11:00 am with burial following at MeadowWood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Tallahassee Lions Club Foundation P.O. Box 133, Tallahassee, Fl 32302.
Arrangements are under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Florida.
