Jeremy Sturgis Cargile, whom we affectionately called Jae, was born in St. Petersburg, Florida on February 23, 1976. He was the third child of Dwayne and Francina Cargile. To close family and friends, Jae was known as Poohbear. He was a precocious child who excelled in academics as he began reading the newspaper at age four. However, his rambunctious behavior would not allow him to sit for traditional learning. With successful testing, Jeremy earned his high school diploma by the age of 15.
Jae had a true affinity towards Information Technology. Becoming proficient in DOS (Disk Operating System) and WordPerfect, he developed a beneficial skill set. This allowed him to accompany his dad on technical support calls.
During his adolescence, Jae received Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was baptized at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Gainesville, Florida.
Jeremy’s passion was cooking. Throughout his career, he was able to serve as a prep cook at TGIFriday’s, Morrison’s, Ryan’s and Marriott Food Services. He also enjoyed making a dish or two at home. Jeremy’s greatest attributes were kindness and generosity. He took pleasure in acknowledging every holiday and each family member’s birthday. Anyone that knew Jae could testify to his continuous demonstration of gifting to anyone in need.
Jae leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Dwayne and Francina Cargile; siblings: Kenya (Steven) Proctor, Jocelyn (Ross) Carlisle of Cary, North Carolina, Lauren Cargile; Aunt Elise (Alice) Burton of Gainesville, Florida; Two nieces: Ugochi and Kelechi Nnaji; Three nephews: Kenstin Nnaji of Gainesville, Florida, Zain and Liam Cargile and a host of loving cousins and friends.
Jeremy was preceded in death by his brother Franz Michael (Sharonda) Davis.
