Jane was the Great Granddaughter of Eng Bunker, of The Famous Siamese Twins, Eng and Chang Bunker. Along with her family, she was pictured in the National Geographic, that featured the Extraordinary Conjoined Twins. Jane came from a large and lovable family that cherished spending time together. She was raised in Mebane, NC where she met & married the love of her life, James, of 61 years. She graduated from Hillsborough High School and attended Greensboro College in NC. James & Jane moved to Tallahassee, FL in 1972, where they raised their 2 children. She retired from the State of Florida, Division of Retirement after working there for over 20 years.
Jane was known too many as “Granny”. She was the kindest & sweetest lady that loved spending time with her family & friends, telling them stories and learning new things. She was a spiritual lady and a member of Gray Memorial United Methodist Church and enjoyed studying the Bible. Granny also enjoyed reading, playing cards, working on Sudoku & Word Search puzzles, music, dancing, traveling, talking on the phone and was an incredible cook.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mamie Bunker; father, Oliver Bunker; sisters, Gladys Bunker, Ellen Ross Dees & Jessie Bryant; brothers, Hershell Bunker, Max Bunker & Fred Bunker.
Jane is survived by her husband, James Daniel Workman, Sr. of Florida; son, James Daniel Workman, Jr. (Lisa) of Florida; daughter, Lora Jane Polisson (Ed) of Indiana; brother, Henry Bunker of North Carolina; 5 grandchildren, Eddie Polisson (Mandee) of Indiana, Kelsea Baldwin (Trenton) of Kansas, Daniel Workman (Misti) of Florida, Ricky Polisson (Brittany) of Indiana, Dustin Workman (Hannah) of Connecticut; 7 great grandchildren, Davee Polisson, Aubree Polisson, Jaydee Baldwin, Maverick Polisson, Jamey Workman, Wyatt Polisson, Trey Baldwin; and many nieces & nephews.
Jane will be missed deeply by many. Anyone that had to chance to know her, will forever hold the memories of her near & dear to their heart.
A visitation will be held Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 3pm - 5pm at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 23, 2023 at 10am at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home with burial to follow at 12pm at Tallahassee National Cemetery, 5015 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, Florida 32311.
