James was a career banker and was employed by Bank of America where he served as a Retail Branch Manager. James was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family and attending UF football games. He was a devout Christian and a member of the Gainesville Church of God.
He is survived by his son, David Ogburn (Becky) of Tampa, Florida; two grandchildren, Megan Ogburn and Ryan Ogburn, both of Tampa; one sister, Martha Brown of High Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his lifelong spouse, Amanda Ogburn; his parents, Joseph B. Ogburn and Margaret “Maggie” Ogburn of Lake City; 9 siblings, Nettie Davis, Caulie Ogburn, Georgia Skinner, Tank Ogburn, Lester Ogburn, Margaret Underwood, Bailey Ogburn, Allie Mae Dinkins and Jerry Ogburn.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 1:00pm at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, Florida. The family will receive family & friends from 12:00 - 1:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
