A native of West Palm Beach, Florida, living in Sebring and eventually moving to Tallahassee in 1953 to join other family members. She was a devout Christian and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and loved everything Florida State University with a passion and loved life. She never met a stranger in life and had a playful and lively soul.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Joyce (husband, Dale), grandsons; Jason Phipps, Ron Cave (wife, Cathy), granddaughter, Natasha Kinch (husband, Brandon), and a great-granddaughter, Brittany Cave.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dallas and Lillian Winchester, her son, Ronald Cave and siblings Charles Winchester (Jackie) and Betty Jane Stivender (Milton).
She retired from the Florida State University in 1993 but continued maintaining relationships with her work family by coordinating the FSU Retirees luncheon for many years. She was also a member of the Red Hats Club.
A celebration of life is planned for August 8, 2022, at 12:00 Noon at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee. Family will receive friends before the celebration of life from 11am-12 Noon. A reception will follow the service.
