Mr. Fox retired from the Department of Labor and Employment Security, Unemployment Compensation Division as Administrator.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Killearn United Methodist Church, 2800 Shamrock,St., Tallahassee 32309 Internment to follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Friday October 31, 2014 at Culley’s MeadowWood Timberlane Road Chapel.
Mr. Fox was a founding and active member of Killearn United Methodist Church since 1970. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Seminary Support Fund of the church located at 2800 Shamrock St.. ,Tallahassee 32309.
Mr. Fox was a resident of Tallahassee since 1970 and Floridian since 1935, growing up in Miami where he attended all grades to include graduation from Miami Senior High and the University of Miami. . He was a charter member and past President of Northside Kiwanis Club of Tallahassee, past Lt. Governor of Florida District of Kiwanis International, past President of the Tallahassee Reserve Officers Assn., member of Post 13, American Legion, life member of the Military Officers Association of America, National Guard Officers Assn .and the Reserve Officers Assn. He was a veteran of World War II, served in the Pacific theater, veteran of the Okinawa campaign and occupation of Japan. He retired as a Colonel in the U S Army Reserves and he will have a military funeral. Gregg participated in the Honor Flight to Washington, DC from Tallahassee in May 2013.
Mr. Fox was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Cora Elizabeth Shields Fox. He was blessed with three daughters, Christy Barber and husband Ken of Roswell, GA., Shirley E. Fox , of Woodstock, GA., and Wanda J .Fox of Tallahassee.
Mr. Fox lived a full and good blessed and happy Christian life.
