George was a banker. He began his career with Barnett and also worked with Tallahassee State, Wakulla and Centennial Banks. He had many friends in banking, and from his earlier life at Florida State and the old Pastime Tavern.
George was born in Wilmington, N.C. and moved to St Petersburg in 1961. He graduated from St Pete High in 1963 and served in the Sixth Fleet of the United States Navy. After receiving his AA from SPJC, he moved to Tallahassee to attend FSU. He participated in the Florence Program, and graduated from FSU in 1972. He was a great pool and racquetball player. Anyone who played against him remembers his competitive nature. He took up music late in life and, as with most things he tried, strove hard to master the banjo, guitar and harmonica . Along with his wife, George visited China three times. He enjoyed Chinese culture and learned to speak some phrases in that difficult language .
George is survived by his beloved wife Fei (Kiko) Williams, his sister Mary of Land O Lakes, a sister Ruth of Cape Cod, sister Joan and brother Joe of Tampa, and brother Bob of Orlando, along with many nieces and nephews. He leaves numerous friends in Tallahassee, around the state, the country and the world. There are no services scheduled at this time.
Arrangements are under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Floridaa.
