I will never forget Esther. I met her at Movin' On, the widowed persons support group I started as a volunteer when Hospice was just getting it's start in 1981.  Esther attended the group, and continued leadership after I left the group some years later. We became good friends, despite the disparity in our ages, and would frequently get together and compare how our experiences seemed to parallel each other's. Esther and I had a lot in common and appreciated each other's no-nonsense approach to life. After some years, we lost touch, but ran into each other in our favorite discount store, the Thrifty Shopper, last year. We both were eyeing each other, trying to figure out how we knew each other and finally I said to the owner of the store, "I know that lady from somewhere." Well, after we figured out who we were, we had a reunion right there! We sat down in the chairs at the front of the store and caught up, talking for hours with the customers listening and making comments! Joan, the store owner, was just thrilled because Esther was one of her favorite people and reminds her of her mother. Esther and I had one more visit at her house and we had a blast, laughing and reminiscing together. I will always love her and never will forget her. She enriched my life. She was a special friend.

Aunt Esther will surely be missed. I remember so many wonderful times at her home with family. I always felt at home there with great food and laughter. Esther was the life of the party and never seemed stressed to have a house full of people.

I enjoyed spending time with her in my adult life, talking about the world, religion and her perspective on things.

She visited our home in Oklahoma and I'll never forget that she pulled the curtains closed in her bedroom and the rod fell off the wall. We laughed until our sides hurt.

We camped together in Pennsylvania when we were very young. It was always fun to be with Trilly and Tina because they were close to my age.

We love you Esso.

I will miss Esther very much. She was always more concerned about others than herself and never failed to make me laugh. I am so grateful to have known her and she helped people she never knew. Her daughters are a beautiful reflection of her. Thank you for letting me know all of you.

Standing alone now without you, no more long phone conversations. We're sisters for life, but now you're gone - without you I'm holding on and keeping strong. We shared much joy,tears and pain. A lifetime spent, those memories remain.  I'll miss you dear sister, but wouldn't wish you back, you suffered enough.  Wait for me with spring dafodils and tulips, until the day God calls me home. What a wonderful and unique person Esther was.  In good times and bad, ups and downs, happy or sad she was always there for me and others.  She filled a big void in my life and I will always be thankful to her and her girls for that.  She loved her family and was surrounded by her girls who never left her side and made sure she had everything that she needed, ever her chocolate.  She will be missed more than words can say. What a blessing she was!

Aunt Esther will be remembered as my fun loving, always outspoken, never a dull moment aunt.  I remember many Thanksgiving dinners in Jacksonville and Tallahassee growing up with her always making my dad's favorite oyster dressing and me trying to figure out what smelly oysters had to do with Thanksgiving.  She loved to laugh and always made us feel welcome in her home.  I know for sure my mom, Martha Catanese Fisher, her youngest sister, will deeply miss her daily phone calls.  My deepest sympathy to my cousins in the loss of their great mom.

Thinking and praying for you all.  I spent many hours with Mrs. Lentz when Trilly and I were in Jr. High and High School in Jacksonville in the 70's.  She was always so much fun to be with - she was a 'cool' mom.  I pray the Lord will comfort you with His peace knowing your precious mother is with Him now.  He loved her first and always.  May the memories of happy times together and the lessons she taught you bring you joy in remembering her life.
