Essie Mae (Collins) Lindsey, age 87, of Monticello, Florida passed away on October 8, 2016. Essie was born on April 21, 1929 to Henry J. Collins and Nancy Ann Bailey Collins in Arabi, (Crisp County) Georgia. Essie retired from the Florida Department of Insurance after serving 28 years. Essie loved sewing, reading, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Essie was preceded in death by her husband George M. Lindsey Jr. She is survived by her daughter Georgia Gail (Jerry) Dennard and her son Scotty Dale Lindsey (Vivian); 5 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 1:00 PM with a celebration of life to follow at 2:00 PM. The visitation and celebration of life will be held at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee. Interment will follow at MeadowWood Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee.
