Elizabeth Anne "Betty" Irvin

Betty was born in Irvington, New Jersey on November 18, 1935.

She is preceded in death by her parents Herman George and Dorothy Anne Bien and sister, Delores Marie Schaefer of New Jersey; grandson Christopher Patrick Elmore of Arkansas and former spouse Edward Clarke of New York.

Betty is survived by Earl O. Irvin, her husband of 24 years of Monticello, Florida; daughters – Barbara Elmore (David) of Mount Pine, AR, Carolyn Cann (Ron) and Andrea Suit (Randy) of Bonnerdale, AR, Dori Barton (John) of Tallahassee; step daughters – Paulette Irvin, Patricia Zimmer (Ben) and Dianne (Greg) Davis all of Tallahassee, Constance Higginbotham of Orangeburg, SC; brother Jimmy Bien (Ginny) of Manchester, NJ, three nieces, three nephews, eleven great nieces and nephews, several cousins and an aunt and uncle, all of New Jersey; seventeen grandchildren – Sarah Elmore, Michael Elmore (Annie) of Mt Pine, AR, Jeremy and Ryan Stevens of Hot Springs, AR, Allicyn Willix (Aaron), Shannon Moore (Caleb) and Justin Suit of Bonnerdale, AR; Trevor and Haleigh Barton of Tallahassee, Earl (Jennifer) Higginbotham of Middleburg, Fl, Chuck (Wendy) Higginbotham of Fleming Island, Fl, Earl (Andria) Irvin of Reno, NV, Michael Irvin, Marie Love, Mitchell Zimmer, Paul (Kim) Zimmer, and Sarah Ivester of Tallahassee; three great grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren.

Betty retired from the Florida Department of Corrections in 2004. She loved to travel and was a dedicated member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks of Tallahassee Lodge #937 and past State President of the Florida Ladies of the Elks.

Memorial Service will be held at the Tallahassee Elks Lodge at 276 N. Magnolia Drive, in Tallahassee at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 27th. Following the service will be a Celebration of Betty’s Life. All friends are invited.
