Elizabeth A. “Betty” Fountain, 89, died Monday (11/28) at Seven Hills Nursing Home. A native of Milwaukee, WI Betty and her husband lived in the Space Coast area before moving to Tallahassee. Her husband of 63 years, Bates, was an engineer and worked on the Apollo program for NASA. She enjoyed telling stories about that time and the many astronauts she met. One with a quick wit she would often say that Bates could easily build a screw driver, but she never would trust him to use one.
Predeceased by her husband and a son: Randy S.; she is survived by her son: Gary of Madison, WI and several nieces and nephews.
